IPG Spring Conference 2023

Join us in London for the Spring Conference 2023! We are able to offer discounted rates for group bookings, please email the IPG team for more information: [email protected]

Please note the Monday dinner is now fully booked.

It’s going to be one of our biggest and best Conferences yet, and we’d love to see you there.

The event will have the IPG’s famous mix of inspiring keynotes, case studies, practical how-to sessions and streams for different sectors of publishing, plus extensive opportunities for the best networking and socialising in publishing. We’ve revamped the Conference format for 2023 to make it accessible and cost-effective, cramming the content into a day and a half and moving the venue to London, with online access available too.

Our Conference programme can be downloaded here.

Conference keynotes

We’re thrilled to welcome day one keynotes from three inspiring experts.

  • BBC broadcaster, economist and author Dharshini David, back by popular demand with her overview of the business, economic and media landscapes
  • David Rowan, founding editor-in-chief of Wired, setting out technology and innovation trends impacting publishing including Artificial Intelligence
  • Leading European affairs commentator Anand Menon, with a look at big trading issues and opportunities for UK publishers in a post-Brexit Europe

More day one speakers

The first day of the Spring Conference will also feature some top independent publishing leaders, including Canongate’s Jamie Byng, Bloomsbury’s Jenny Ridout and Gill Books’ Ruth Gill, setting the scene for 2023 in the trade, children’s, academic and educational sectors. Waterstones and Barnes & Noble’s James Daunt and Bookshop.org’s Nicole Vanderbilt will join us from the world of retail, and we’ll be ranging far and wide across hot topics. As well as grappling with publishing’s big challenges, we’ll be focused firmly on opportunities for growth, both domestically and around the world. The day will end with drinks and a special dinner at the nearby British Library.
Please note: Monday night dinner at The British Library is now fully booked. Due to limited capacity, we can only allow admission to people who have booked Conference tickets that specify dinner is included.

Day two

The second morning of the Spring Conference is set aside for workshops, delivering practical advice on a variety of subjects including online advertising, podcasts for consumers, rights, email marketing, workflows, management, running author events, and accessibility—plus more networking over breakfast, coffee and lunch.

Online Access

Online tickets give access to day one of the Conference and do not include the workshops on day two.
Most of the day one sessions will be live-streamed. All day one sessions will be recorded and uploaded for on-demand catch up.

Accommodation and dinner

To give you flexibility, we’re not including accommodation in delegate package, but there are plenty of hotels nearby if you would like to stay overnight: local hotels can be found here.

Monday night dinner at The British Library is now fully booked. Due to limited capacity, we can only allow British Library admission to people who have booked Conference tickets that specify dinner is included.
