1. What's your company called?

Evolution Design & Digital.

2. What services do you offer?

We help with design, typesetting, illustration (digital and traditional), XML workflows, self-publishing, project management and packaging, including copy-editing and proofreading.

3. How can you help IPG members?

We have a vast amount of experience in all aspects of pre-press, having worked with all types of publishers—from start-ups to some of the biggest companies in the world. We pride ourselves on being a forward thinking company with our roots very much in the traditional: we still work in picas and points! We hope that our experience and eye for detail can help IPG members achieve the quality books that they desire, within the constraints of modern day costings. Part of our ethos is to interact with clients from the very start of projects, offering valuable advice and helping to make sure they keep on budget and schedule.

4. What do you enjoy about working in publishing?

Even after 40 years in this industry, the pride and satisfaction of being in a book store and picking up a copy of a book you have put a lot of time and effort into.

5. What do you think is the single biggest opportunity and the single biggest threat for independent publishers right now?

The biggest opportunity is for independent publishers to find a way to come together and sell their products online through one independent website. If they don’t, then the biggest threat is trying to keep our high streets alive so that independent bookshops are able to showcase the great work produced by independent publishers.

6. What do you get out of belonging to the IPG?

Being part of a group of like-minded people who value the traditions and importance of what we do in this industry.
