Here's what Veruschka Selbach from Pluto Press will be gifting, reading and hoping to get this Christmas!

I honestly don't know. I need some fiction after this mad year. You know, those books that make you wish you hadn't read them yet, the minute you finish. Examples - A Little Life, The Poisonwood Bible, The Crimson Petal and the White, One Hundred Years of Solitude. Like those... I'm hoping for a surprise.

More of a story really... The Night Before Christmas by Nikolai Gogol. Not the poem, though that's good too - this is a proper Russian fairytale.

Obviously a Pluto book. This year it's The Brutish Museums by Dan Hicks which made the New York Times list of best art books of 2020. It calls for the serious consideration of restitution of stolen and looted objects from our museums and institutions. Not only is it ground-breaking, but also an engagingly good read.
