17 December

Today we're hearing from IPG Board members, James Woollam (David & Charles) and Phil Turner (Meze Publishing) to see what they will be gifting, reading and hoping to get this Christmas!

On the back of our DOUBLE European and Premiership winning season, it has to be 'Exe Men: The Extraordinary Rise of the Exeter Chiefs." Surely a sporting and management lesson for all!!

I've come to the end of the time when I get to read the younger kids' books but hanging on to that for a little while longer it's between 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Dr Seuss' and 'The Snowman', Raymond Briggs.

Mmm… there are loads of ones that I like reading my kids at bedtime which really starts to make it feel Christmassy – they’re not great works of literature though! Father Christmas Needs a Wee is a belter.

Three answers from which you can take your pick!

  • At least one person is getting A Promised Land, Barack Obama.
  • I'm getting all of my D&C team a small thank-you present year which will include a copy of The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse, Charlie Mackesy.
  • One of the D&C books I am giving is Crochet Iconic Women, from which we make a donation for every copy sold to a fantastic charity called the Wonder Foundation.

The Little Book of Sheffield – very biased, yes, but we’ve just published it to help support the independent businesses in the city.
