Job description
Phoenix is a new, dynamic and growing publishing company that specialises in mental health titles for professionals. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to work across all aspects of the publishing process, with particular focus on marketing and rights. The job will be varied and will involve working closely with the publishing and sales directors, including but not limited to tasks such as preparing and posting social media content, updating book metadata, email marketing, corresponding with overseas publishers, writing marketing copy, and proofreading. The perfect first job in publishing, it will provide excellent insight and experience and we expect the job to grow alongside the company. Once travel restrictions are lifted, there may be opportunities to represent Phoenix at conferences in the UK and overseas. Full training will be provided and the ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • A degree
  • Some experience in an office environment
  • An excellent standard of written English with a close attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Experience of using social media
  • Strong IT skills to enable working with various systems and applications
  • A self-starter attitude with the ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
  • A passion for the publishing industry
  • Previous experience in publishing and some knowledge of the mental health field is an advantage but not essential
