Role Overview

Are you a creative and commercial thinker?

Have you got demonstrable organisational and administrative skills?

Do you have a passion for books and an interest in bookmaking?

We are looking for a meticulous and organised Publications Coordinator to provide administrative and editorial support to the Whitechapel Gallery’s programme of publications, which includes exhibition catalogues and the renowned Documents of Contemporary Art series. We are looking for someone with a blend of organisation and curiosity. Candidates must be highly efficient and hard-working, with a close eye for detail, as well as a willingness to learn more about gallery publishing. Someone with a can-do, enthusiastic attitude, who has a proven ability to work well under pressure and is a multitasker would be an ideal fit.

Conditions of Work

Contract: Permanent

Hours of work: Full-time, 36.25 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9:30am-5:45pm, with one hour for lunch. Due to the nature of the job, some early morning, evening and weekend work will be required, as well as occasional travel. This will be compensated by time off in lieu.

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Probation period: 6 months

Notice period: 2 months in writing on either side
