Job description

The role

Bristol University Press (BUP) is looking for an Institutional Sales Manager to implement its sales strategy and to increase sales in line with business growth targets. This role is pivotal to the Press's global sales development and outreach.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of an award-winning, dynamic and not-for-profit scholarly Press based at one of the world’s top universities.

What will you be doing?

You will develop and implement the annual institutional sales strategy, forecasts and targets for our digital content: eBooks, journals, and Open Access.

You will drive international revenue by securing new business and managing renewals for journal subscriptions and eBook collections on the Bristol University Press Digital (BUPD). You will also manage the commercial relationships with third-party eBook suppliers.

You will lead global licensing negotiations and develop and implement open-access models, such as transformative agreements. Above all, you will be responsible for developing relationships across universities, other institutions, and consortia.

You will work with colleagues at BUP across editorial and marketing to ensure all potential sales leads, usage data and OA data can inform sales decisions. You will provide direct line management to the

Institutional Sales Executive and Sales and Customer Administrator.

You should apply if

You should be a strong communicator, negotiator and presenter with excellent reporting, organisational and analytical skills and have a proven track record of delivering revenue growth and working under pressure.

You will have a strong track record in developing relationships across universities, other institutions and consortia.
