Head of Corporate Communications, Executive
Bloomsbury is looking for an experienced Head of Corporate Communications to represent the company to external stakeholders: including the Trade Press, Media, and Consumers. As well as facilitating internal communication campaigns, monitoring consumer opinion, and brand management.
The role is envisaged as a part time role – 3 days a week. However it is imperative that this role is on call to manage important issues/”crisis management”.
The candidate will have excellent communications skills and experience in optimizing communications in a global company. A key part of the role will be working with Bloomsbury Senior Leadership Team - the Executive Committee. Whilst the role does not include working on individual book campaigns, it does include working with key departments including Marketing and Publicity on corporate initiatives, the Diversity and Inclusion Manager and Head of Sustainability. In conjunction with HR, another key part of the role is staff communications. As Bloomsbury is a Plc listed on the London Stock Exchange they would also need to have a close working relationship with the Company Secretary and Hudson Sandler (Financial PR Agency). They would need to be an excellent team player who can represent important issues on behalf of the company to a wide range of stakeholders.
Knowledge, skills and experience
• 10 years’ experience in public relations, publicity and other communications roles
• Exceptional writing, strategic and positioning skills a must
• Have excellent media contacts
• Have a good head for figures
• Be especially good at building relationships with colleagues and people within the publishing industry and further afield.
• Line management experience
The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP and partly at home however, as all Bloomsbury employees are currently working from home, this role will be based at home until our offices reopen.
