An award-winning publisher of educational material is seeking an organised and meticulous Editor for Primary Education to join their passionate and customer-focused Publishing team. The company offer an excellent salary package, and great flexibility with this role being 100% remote.
As Editor the main purpose of your role will be to support senior editors, and work as part of the editorial team, to prepare print and digital content for publication. You will assist with all editorial and pre-production activities, including, copy editing, proofreading, text editing and correction in Google Docs and InDesign, electronic markup (e.g. Adobe PDF), cover briefing, scheduling, checking press files for printers, and liaising with various departments (e.g. editorial, design, project management, marketing, and sales).
The ideal Editor will demonstrate experience of working on 4-colour books and a complete knowledge of the production life cycle. You will have experience of working within a publishing environment (in particular editorial) and demonstrate excellent proofreading and organisational skills. You will be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, responding to instructions, and communicating clearly with internal and external colleagues. Knowledge of Primary Maths publishing is preferable, but not essential, and an interest in working on educational and children's print and digital content is important.
