Programme

10.45am: Movement in the Workplace
The Spring Conference+ starts with an important session on how to bring about more movement within the working day, whether at home or the office. Physiotherapist and ergonomic consultant Olivia Hamilton shows us how to sit with minimal stress on the body. She explains specific aches and pains associated with poor postural habits and suggests ways to set up your workplace better. Olivia will invite you to participate in some exercises, so you are welcome to turn your camera off if preferred!

11.30am: How to Stay Cyber-Secure
A stream of high-profile breaches of cyber-security breaches emphasises the urgency of rigorously protecting IT systems and data from hackers. Experts Jordan Lovelock and Jon Barns of the Sprint agency guide us through an attack scenario, with takeaways for improving response strategies and data protection practice

12.30pm Lunch Break

2pm: Action on Accessibility
The European Accessibility Act (EAA) 2025 has made everyone in publishing aware of the need to make content accessible to all users and accommodate disabilities and impairments. The IPG’s head of learning and development Louise Cameron sets out some of the new obligations on publishers, and the workflows and solutions publishers can adopt to make sure content is properly available.

3pm: Get Greener in Publishing
Whether your organisation has established a zero-carbon strategy or is just starting out on the sustainability journey, this session brings useful ideas and tips for good practice. We’ll have case studies of two publishers’ work to reduce their carbon footprint in various ideas, and a guide to how the free Carbon Calculator can help you measure and reduce environmental impacts
